Spencer's Retreat

Supporting vulnerable adults, children and their families in Warwickshire and the West Midlands

Our Vision

The heart of our vision is to provide children with special needs and their families a safe space to unwind, explore and learn, reducing anxiety and creating positive experiences. In addition we'd like to target other groups where there is a need for support/ rest and recuperation in order to improve mental well being.
We have now got new enclosures in place for the animals

Interaction with animals is incredibly therapeutic and beneficial to the whole family as it can lower anxiety, stress and depression. ‚Äč
We have one polytunnel currently under construction and would like an additional polytunnel. These can be used for growing, housing animals in the winter and for our events on rainy days.

Link up with local colleges and schools to offer opportunities to students with SEND to access the facilities, be involved in its set up, maintenance and eventual success.
We have now created a sitting area and kitchen space for families to use. Our aim is to convert the end stable into a sensory space for children/ adults to unwind in.

Create and maintain an allotment area to grow fruit, vegetables and herbs.

Create a volunteer family consisting of a variety of roles to assist with the smooth running of the retreat.
